Proclamations, Lightings and Community Flag Raising Requests

Proclamations, lightings and community flag raising requests are evaluated in accordance with the City's Proclamation, Lighting & Community Flag Raising Policy. Please review the policy prior to submitting your request for information on eligibility and approval.

*By stating the registered charity or not-for-profit organization name, you confirm that you are authorized to act on their behalf and that the charity/organization hereby gives its approval for you to act on this matter.

Lighting Request Information:

Please Note: No Lighting Request will be approved unless a Proclamation is issued in accordance with the Proclamations, Lighting and Community Flag Raising Policy.

Lighting of a City monument are limited to the Belleville sign, Fire Station 1 Monument and the Bridge Street Bridge. The City in its sole discretion shall determine which monument(s) will be lighted.

Lighting Requests associated with a week or month long Proclamation will be recognized on the first date of the proclaimed time period, week or month, unless otherwise specified. Lighting will take place from dusk to dawn for a period of seven (7) days during the approved proclamation period.

Community Flag Raising Request Information:

Please Note: No Community Flag Raisings will be approved unless a Proclamation is issued in accordance with the Proclamations, Lighting and Community Flag Raising Policy.

Community Flag Raisings are only available April through November each year. Flags must be provided by the requester at their own expense and will take place on the Ceremonial Flagpole located at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, on regular business days. Community Flag Raisings will be for a one month period.

Please remember: Advance notice is required. Please submit your request no less than three months before the requested date. Requests can only be honoured when not conflicting with previously received requests.
