City of Belleville Special Events Application

This form is to be completed by individuals, groups or organizations who wish to hold an event on a City of Belleville street or other City property. The Event Organizer shall complete and submit a Special Events Application according to the event planning timelines.

Please ensure you have reviewed the Event Guidelines prior to completing the application. Simply submitting an application does not obligate you to host an event and submission does not guarantee City approval of the event. Payment is not required at the time of submission but will be discussed during meetings with city staff. 

Easy steps to hosting your event:

  1. Review the event guidelines
  2. Complete a Special Event Application and submit within required timelines (application reviewd by the Special Events Review and Approvals Committee)
  3. Meet with City staff (to be arranged by City staff) to review Event Application
  4. Submit required documents and obtain required approvals (along with insurance, signed contract and payment)
  5. Event Permit  issued once approved and all aspects of the Event Application have been met
  6. Host successful event
  7. Meet with City staff for a post-event debrief meeting or complete the post-event survey

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in planning a special event in the City of Belleville. If you intend to use a City park, facility, or street for an event, this Special Event Application is intended to support and guide you through your planning process and help you understand your obligations.

As the Event Organizer, your role will be to follow-up directly with the proper authorities regarding approvals for certain event activities. This will ensure that all necessary approvals will be in place before the actual date(s) of the event. Failure to comply with the conditions outlined in the Special Event General Guidelines may result in denial of the Application or termination of the event.

Please note, the City reserves the right to cancel or close an Event in such emergencies where life and property safety are at risk.
