Outstanding Achievement in Heritage Revitalization

Submit your nomination with the form provided. You may submit as many nominations as you like, but please use a separate form for each submission. Nominations will be accepted until January 31, 2025 – 4:00 p.m.

• Indicate the award category that is applicable to the nomination.

• State clearly why the individual, organization, or project deserves recognition in the specified category.

• Submit additional material (i.e., photographs, publications, slides, letters of support, etc.) that will help supplement your nomination. Be sure to indicate whether the additional materials should be returned.

• If someone other than you is to be notified of the status of the nomination or award, please include that information in the “Contact Person” section.

• Heritage Belleville may choose to award more than one entry in any given category and reserves the right to not choose a winner within a category. The Committee reserves the right to move a nomination into a category that is different than the one indicated on the form if it appears that another category is more appropriate.

Nomination Categories

Outstanding Revitalization

The nominee has sustained or restored a building’s or property’s original

• Rare, unique quality
• Early example of a style, type, expression, material or construction method
• High degree of craftsmanship or artistic merit
• High degree of technical or scientific achievement or adaptive reuse

Landmark Revitalization

• Importance in defining, maintaining or supporting the character of an area
• Link to its surroundings physically, functionally, visually or historically

Preservation of historical significance

The nominee has secured long-term community recognition for any of the following:

• Demonstrates or reflects the work or ideas of an architect, builder, or designer who is significant to our community.
• Is a resident of Belleville who makes a significant contribution to preserving heritage.
