Low Income Senior Property Tax & Water/Wastewater Credit Application

You can apply for the Low Income Senior Property Tax & Water/Wastewater Credit for 2026. Please complete the attached application form with supporting documents, date and sign.

Please remember to include the documentation referenced T4A (OAS).

1. Applicant must be sixty-five (65) years of age or older by December 31st, 2025.

2. Applicant must own this property as their principal residence.

3. Applicant deadline is August 31st, 2026.

4. Applicant must be in receipt of benefits for the Guaranteed Income Supplement provided under the Old Age Security Act (Canada). Applicants must provide a copy of the 2025 Old Age Security T4A (OAS)(BOX 21) statement with the application.

5. Applications must be made on a yearly basis.

6. Under the Low Income Senior Property Tax Rebate, all approved applicants will receive a $1,200 credit, which the City will apply towards the 2026 Final tax bill.

7. Under the Low Income Senior Property Water/Wastewater Rebate, all approved applicants may receive up to $420 credit, ($200 for properties with Water services and no sewer), which the City would apply towards the applicants Water account and appear on their water bill.

An eligible applicant, must answer YES to the following questions 1 through 7, please sign (or have you agent sign) and date. This application can the be dropped at City hall using the drop box or mailed to the Tax Department (mailing address below), by August 31st, 2026.

 

Does the applicant own and occupy the property as their principal residence?
 
Does the Eligible applicant receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement under the Old Age Security (Canada), Box 21 and occupy this property as your principal residence?
 
Is the Eligible applicant 65 (sixty-five) years of age or older on December 31st, 2025 ?
 
Does the applicants name match the name on the utility billing account?
 
Is the applicant's tax and water account in good standing?
 
Is this the only property for which you have completed an application for the 2026 rebate ?
